CHESTNUT SUNDAY (in Bushy Park)
SVBTC have been invited to display their Veteran bicycles at this event by Ripley Road section of the VCC. The event celebrates the date on which Victorians would stroll along the main carriageway admiring the Horse Chestnut trees in full blossom. This is the first event to be held since Covid. There is normally a parade of bicycles and horse drawn vehicles along the central road through the park.
In previous years this has included military vehicles and cars, but these are now excluded we understand. Back in the 90s there used to be penny racing along the road but there are probably not enough machines and riders to do this now.
