FAWLEY HILL, HENLEY

This is a fantastic, large, eclectic, vintage-styled, family-fun festival held on the beautiful FAWLEY HILL estate. This year will be the last one ever held and Judy McAlpine’s final hurrah to celebrate her 80th. It’s organised by the Transport Trust (of which she is President), Judy and the Princess Royal.

The event has a large number of attending steam vehicles, vintage buses, vintage lorries, TV’s Ed China’s collection, military vehicles, stalls with collectables and architectural salvage. They also have an arena area, which most vehicles that attend go around. Plus there is live music, a full-size “train set” within the grounds and an outstanding train museum.

We are having a separate display this year of “Bonkers Bikes” as requested by the birthday girl. If anyone has anything suitable it will be very welcome. We have swing bikes, kanga bike, half-bikes, pump bike and unrideable bikes (to give you a general idea of the requirements).

Let Dave Gray or Michael Gray know if you are interested and what machines you intend to bring. Obviously the more exotic the better and we will expect at least one machine per person. Dateline 1920, but later machines of interest to the public will be acceptable. The Committee will have the final decision on all machines to be displayed.

Camping options should be available for club members as before. Check out the website for more information.
