Bridget Ellis

Dear all,

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you of the passing of our former President Bridget Ellis. She died last week of a non-Covid illness. Bridget’s passing is a blow, not only to her family and friends but to all of us in the NAVCC as she was the last survivor of attending every National Rally since its inception in 1957 and was even at the inaugural ride and setting up of the Association in 1956. She was the last person alive to be able to create that link to our beginnings.

Other than her links with our heritage she was a fine lady who I had the pleasure of working with on many occasions as the President of the Association as well as her activities within the Long Sutton club. She was a major driving force behind the Association’s 60th Anniversary National and was responsible for the production of the splendid book for all the previous 60 National programme front covers. This was only made possible as she is the only person I knew that had every National programme.

Although she stepped down from the NAVCC committee she was always active behind the scenes and as Secretary I always sent he a copy of the minutes for her information, at her request I should add. She will be much missed.

All the best, take care and stay safe,

Stuart (Warburton)
