About The Solent Veteran Bicycle and Tricycle Club
When and Why Was The SVBTC Started?
The Solent Veteran Bicycle and Tricycle Club (SVBTC) was formed in August 1987. The club was created with the aim of encouraging the restoration and use of vintage cycles by organising regular local rides, and taking in a place of interest during the ride. Membership being open to anyone with a interest in early cycles, even if they do not own a vintage bicycle or tricycle themselves.
How Often Does The Club Meet
The club tries to organise a bike ride most months of the year. In the past few years events like The Victoria Day at Portsmouth Dockyard, The Traditional Boat Rally at Henley and The Great Dorset Steam Fair have been attended. These, along with many other events, both large and small, including other vintage club’s rallies as well. For a list of our current scheduled events please see here: Club Events.
