FAWLEY HILL, HENLEY

This is a fantastic event for club members only held at the home of Lady Judy McAlpine. There is a full-size train set in her garden, plus an outstanding train museum. This is a one-off event organised by the Transport Trust (of which she is President), Judy and the Princess Royal.

Those that came to Bill’s birthday bash will remember spotting some famous faces. This event promises to be as good, possibly even better. We have been asked to put on a really good display, which she knows we always do, plus the illuminated parade on one of the evenings.

The Saturday night will be a charity festival gig by The Who with supporting events, one of them possibly us The tickets for Saturday will be very expensive as it is for The Teenage Cancer Trust and Roger Daltrey CBE is their patron.

We can access the site from Friday for camping and probably leave on the Tuesday morning. The passes will be strictly controlled due to the high costs involved as we will have free access to all events on site. Let Dave Gray or Michael Gray know if you are interested, and what machines you will bring.

Obviously the more exotic the better and we will expect at least one machine per person. Dateline 1920, but later machines of interest to the public will be acceptable. The Committee will have the final decision on all machines to be displayed. Lady McAlpine has only just confirmed that this will be happening, so further details will be provided as they come in. Current, paid up SVBTC, members only.
