PALACES RIDE

Meet at a members house at 10:00 am for a 10:30 am start, contact for details. Large tricycles can be a challenge getting through the “kissing” gates at either end of Bushy Park. The ride does go along the Thames path and one section can be a bit ‘lumpy’ so not suitable for solid tyres or tricycles.

Lunch will be taken at Hampton Court Palace, there are plenty of seats in the garden for those who wish to bring their own picnic lunch. All are invited back for tea at the club members home.

64th NATIONAL RALLY NAVCC

The Solent Veteran Bicycle & Tricycle Club are hosting the 64th National Rally this year. For 2020 we are returning to Fishbourne Community Centre, 46 Blackboy Lane, Chichester, PO18 8BE.

There will be camping available, from midday Friday to Monday morning, in the field with toilets. We have been informed that showers are currently being built/renovated and should hopefully be available at the centre by this event (This is still to be confirmed). There are two small play parks for the younger entrants, as well as plenty of space on the camping field.

They have a bar and catering facilities with breakfast available at cost on Saturday and Sunday morning. They serve Fish and Chips or Sausage etc on the Friday evening which will be priced as per their menu. On Saturday evening there will be a barbecue and entertainment (£6.50 for adults, £5.00 for under 14’s). Sunday morning tea and coffee will be available before the event begins, roast lunch and pudding will be before the presentations (£13.00 for adults, £7.00 for under 14’s – including puddings). Vegetarian options are available.

As the host club we are looking forward to welcoming people to the south coast and plan to organise a static display of the history of cycling, interesting rides in the local area and the usual cycle jumble. The Community Centre have been very accommodating to our requests and are looking forward to supporting us throughout the weekend.
